Summary
  • Worked on a team of one artist and three programmers for my Game Development I Course
  • Racing game where the player races against the clock.
  • The game keeps track of:
    • Lap Times
    • Lap Numbers
    • When the player is driving in the wrong direction
    • When the player is driving off the road
Features
  • Accepts both keyboard input and ActionXL Motion Controller input
  • Fully three dimensinal environment
  • H.U.D. with working speedometer, off-road indicator, and wrong way indicator
  • 3D Checkpoints which change color and move when activated.
My Contribution
  • Designed and implemented the checkpoint system
  • Designed and implemented the wrong way detection system and HUD indicator
  • Designed and implemented the offroad detection system and HUD indicator
  • Implemented the game's skybox
  • Helped design and implement the user control code (both keyboard and motion controller)
Language Used Python and the Panda 3D libraries
